The Tribe of Giants respects intellectual property rights and expects its members to do the same. This policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and how we respond. It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Reporting infringement (takedown notice)
If you believe content on the Service infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice to mandelbrotllc@gmail.comwith the subject “DMCA Notice.” Your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
- identification of the material you claim is infringing and enough detail for us to locate it (such as a URL);
- your name, address, and contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
2. What we do
When we receive a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the material and make a reasonable effort to notify the member who posted it. We may forward your notice (including your contact details) to that member.
3. Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to mandelbrotllc@gmail.com including your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, your contact information, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts. We may restore the material if the law allows.
4. Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of members who are repeat infringers.
5. Misrepresentation
Under the law, a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing (or was removed by mistake) may be liable for damages. Please make sure your claim is accurate before sending it.
